IE 5.50 update to IE 6

After repeated attempts to upgrade to IE 6 I've just about decided to quit.I
just can't upgrade. I've already upgraded on my Laptop with no problem ,any
ideas why it should keep failing?

Please define 'can't upgrade' and 'keep failing'. Precise symptoms and
error messages please.
